OUR PROGRAM
STARTING DATE
October 1,2024
LIVE-IN CAPACITY
We will initially be able to have two (2) women participate in our residential program and
live at our facility. Once our Assisted Living application is approved we be able to
accommodate up to six (6) women in our residential program with opportunity for
expansion based on client demand. We are aiming to get a similar program up and
running for men later during 2024.
OUR PROGRAM
RAFSJ is an abstinence-based treatment facility in Baldonnel, BC on the outskirts of
Fort St. John, offering a faith-based 6-month residential treatment program to
individuals trapped in cycles of defeat.
This program will address a wide range of issues such as;
- Substance abuse
- Anger issues
- Patterns of homelessness
- Criminal behaviour
- Deep rooted shame
- Anxiety
- Other forms of bondage a person may be struggling with.
RAFSJ will be taking a holistic approach to recovery by not addressing the addiction
itself, but by addressing the pain that fuels the addiction. Destructive behaviors always
stem from pain and trauma and it is the pain and trauma that these behaviors, such as
addiction, are attempting to mask.
We must ask ourselves "Not why the addiction, but why the pain?". RAFSJ will focus on
that pain in the clients we serve and help them towards experiencing true and lasting
freedom.
Throughout the 6-month program, individuals will have the opportunity to build coping
skills, strengthen resiliency, gain knowledge and practical toolsparticipating in the life-
skill classes and having a safe place to work on deep rooted issues which are always
based in pain and trauma.
The foundation of the 6-Month Residential Treatment program is based on
our H.E.L.P.S model.
HOUSING
- Safe and comfortable living quarters
- Separate housing for men and women
- Responsibility for your own space
- Sharing in maintaining common areas
EMPLOYMENT
Our goal is to provide our participants with the needed skills to obtain
employment when they leave or graduate the program.
Participants will be required to complete up to 12hrs per week of Employment
Readiness Training at a pre-approved business or other agency. This will help
teach our clients the value of servant leadership, help some see working life from
another perspective, develop self-esteem and allow them the opportunity to
contribute back to society.
LIFE-SKILLS CLASS
Participants spend up to 9 hours a week learning various skills and coping
strategies in our Life-Skills classes.
Below are some of the topics we plan on teaching:
- Addiction and Mental Health
- Healthy Boundaries
- Decision Making
- Conflict Resolution
- Co-dependency
- 12-Step Program
- Budgeting / Finances
- Holistic Health
- Nutrition / Health
- Suicide Prevention
- Self-esteem Building
- Time Management
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
This is one of the major areas of growth within the 6-month program. This is
where our Inner Healing model comes into play. Inner Healing is a unique
process that quickly uncovers the root issues that addictions or other destructive
behaviors are attempting to mask. Participants are expected to have one (1)
Inner Healing appointment per week with their assigned Inner Healing Facilitator.
SPIRITUAL FORMATION
In keeping with the “12 step” recovery philosophy, we believe in the significance
of a spiritual awareness and the need for a power greater than ourselves to
enable us in becoming healthy and self-sufficient.
Spiritual Counselling is available upon request.
